Applied Net 2019: Week in Review

October 31, 2019

By: Applied Communications

As more than 4,200 attendees can attest, Applied Net is THE forum to learn about the latest insurance technologies and strategies to prepare your business for the digital revolution of insurance.

If you missed the world’s largest gathering of independent insurance agents and brokers in Las Vegas this year, all is not lost. Here’s a recap of Applied Net 2019, as experienced and reported by some of this year’s attendees.

Getting Ready for the Week

Whether catching the flight to Las Vegas, picking up a conference badge and those ever-important ribbons at the registration desk, or connecting with new and old Applied Net friends at the opening night reception, excitement was in the air as attendees descended upon the Aria Resort.

Inspiring Keynotes

Tuesday’s opening keynotes set the tone for the week ahead. First, Applied Systems new CEO Taylor Rhodes took the stage to discuss his commitment to the company’s vision to create unprecedented opportunities for our customers to generate greater operational efficiencies and drive growth through new products, services and customer experience in the digital revolution of insurance. Then, best-selling author, acclaimed historian, journalist and professor of history at Tulane University, Walter Isaacson explored the innovative figures of the digital revolution from the beginning to current day, imparting how these inventors and entrepreneurs took seemingly disruptive ideas and turned them into inspiring opportunities.

On Wednesday, Michael Howe, SVP of Product Management, unveiled the latest Applied product innovations and roadmap, while Kris Hackney, EVP of Customer Experience, discussed the expectations of today’s connected consumer and how Applied is dedicated to providing the technology needed to deliver an exceptional customer experience.

Time to Learn

This year’s conference included more user-led education sessions than ever before. With more than 240 sessions and 10 different tracks to choose from, there was something for everyone.

Making Connections

As our alumni know well, Applied Net is the best place to network with agents and brokers from across the industry. We kicked off the week with great roundtable discussions at the Applied Net Networking Roundtables, where attendees chatted with new and old friends about topics of mutual interest. After sessions, attendees enjoyed exploring the Applied Net Exchange floor to network with peers, connect with exhibitors and test drive the latest product innovations.

Evening Events

In Las Vegas, everything is bigger and better. After full days of learning and networking, it was time to let loose! From being mesmerized by the daring acrobatics in “O” by Cirque du Soleil to dancing the night away in one of the hottest nightclubs on the Las Vegas Strip, Applied Net 2019’s evening events showed us all how to have some fun, Vegas style.

Final Goodbyes

As the week came to a close, it was time to reflect on our time in Las Vegas and think about the knowledge and experiences we would be bringing home.

Looking Ahead

We will be kicking up our heels and heading back to the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center in Nashville from September 21 – 24 for Applied Net 2020. Stay tuned for more information on when registration opens. You’re not going to want to miss next year’s conference.
